Are these both paintings? At this viewing distance, it's hard to decipher if it's photo. The juxtaposition of the slaughtered swinging pig and the happy swinging child is startling and pleasing.

Thanks guys...Rob, yes they're both paintings. I'm trying something new-ish. The gold is 22kt gold leaf. Both are pretty large. The one of my son is about life size. I do like them as a pair. I'll post some better pics when I get them.
Sean-- I'm happy to see you moving in an alternative direction. Though I have always been moved by your technical ability, in my opinion, most of your paintings have been more illustration than art. This is definitely your best work, and I am more than impressed. Congratulations.
I had no doubt the kid was a painting because I have no doubt to the unlimited skills you possess as a painter. Had a Francis Bacon moment looking at the slaughtered pig. Ronan

Wow! The kid on the swing is unbelievable! Its hard to think that its not a photo. I like the blues on the meat painting.

Superb. They look great as a pair.
I take it these are both oil on board then mounted in the frame after?
